Thousands of people took to the streets in Beirut on Friday to express their outrage at the desecration of a copy of the Koran in Sweden, a day after protesters stormed the country’s embassy in Iraq. “Most of the people who mobilised were Hezbollah supporters and part of the Shiite Muslim community in Lebanon, however the Sunni community … did not mobilise at all,” says FRANCE 24 correspondent Rawad Taha. “All eyes are on the Sunni community, to see if they will call for any protests,” he says.
