Cycleway 51 would connect George Street and Marylebone Road, before running parallel to Edgware Road towards Hamilton Terrace in St John’s Wood.

Another section of the route would connect Lisson Grove to Regent’s Canal.

TfL and Westminster Council have launched consultations on the plans, with work due to begin in mid-2024 if the route is approved.

Proposals include a two-way cycle track between Hamilton Terrace and Northwick Terrace, and in Harewood Avenue.

The changes to Harewood Avenue would see the removal of 82m of resident car parking as well as seven pay and park spaces.

A longer bus lane in Marylebone Road would aim to make journey khbrknews towards Baker Street quicker.

New pedestrian and cycle crossings are also planned along the route.

The majority of the cycleway is covered by Westminster’s consultation, but sections in Marylebone Road and St John’s Wood Road would be implemented by TfL.

You can find the full details about the proposals for Cycleway 51 on the TfL and Westminster City Council websites.

Both consultations are open to responses until 11.59pm on October 15.
