The 58-year-old has presented the radio station’s daily weekday teatime show for nearly two decades.
He has hosted the slot since 2005 for five days a week but he will now be scaling back his broadcasting duties to just one weekday after taking a break in October.
It will see Steve start a new weekly show on 6 Music, titled Steve Lamacq’s Teatime Session, from Monday, January 8, 4pm-7pm.

This means he will present his last daily weekday show on Friday, October 20 from 4pm-7pm.
Posting on X (formerly known as Twitter), BBC Radio 6 Music revealed: “From the 9th of January 2024, Huw Stephens will be joining us, Tuesday – Friday at 4pm-7pm.
“Huw’s show will see him share the music he loves, past and present. He will focus on new discoveries & current obsessions whilst celebrating the alternative music our listeners love.”
