Barnet FC star Idris Kanu speaks out: ‘It wasn’t right for me’

Sierra Leone international, Idris Kanu, spoke with Jamie McCreedy for a local radio outlet Unite Radio talking about their rapid start to the season and where the objective is to be come the final day. Turning back to when the twenty-three year old was a youngster, Kanu spoke about the time he spent at West Ham United. In a game versus Liverpool, Kanu put on an impressive display netting a free kick, that display wasn’t forgotten about on the same day Kanu got called up for the under 18 game in which he, once again  put the shooting boots on another two goals for Kanu sealed an impressive display.

Later in the interview the Barnet attacker spoke about his determination calling it: ‘Hunger.’ Despite this Kanu admitted ‘There’s only small margins that separate players,’ he then later concluded that it also could come down to ‘luck.’

The time at ”The Academy of Football” ended after many years with Kanu adding ‘It wasn’t right for me.’ Despite this in his second season with ‘The bees’ Kanu has been a vital figure on and off the pitch. Providing his team with six goal contributions in his first eight appearances, the forward also spoke in hope to build a football academy in his parents village in West African country Sierra Leone.
